Triggers are a key component of Fountain’s worker products and can be used in the general Worker Experience platform, Pulse, or Compliance. These trigger automations are designed to simplify workflows, boost engagement, and ensure seamless compliance management.
Benefits:
Real-time action with custom attribute webhooks: Within the Worker Experience platform, webhooks can be triggered automatically when Worker Profile attributes change. These real-time updates save time and reduce errors.
Automate feedback with trigger-based Pulse surveys: Effortlessly send Pulse surveys at key moments in the employee journey. Set up triggers like start dates, tenure milestones, or even birthdays to capture feedback when it matters most.
Streamline external document processing in Compliance: Ensure smooth compliance workflows with automatic external document processing. When a worker uploads a required document via a Compliance group, a webhook instantly triggers external systems for processing, reducing manual intervention and ensuring timely completion of compliance checks.

Triggers in Pulse
To use triggers to send surveys at specific times during the employee life cycle, follow the steps below:
Follow the Pulse Check creation steps outlined in this article.
On the Collect page, choose Triggers for your collection cadence.
You can either choose from a template or to create a trigger.
If creating a trigger for the first time, you will choose between the following trigger options: Date, Sentiment Score, or Custom Attribute Update.
Date example: You create a survey to trigger to be sent after the employee has been working for 90 days.
Sentiment score example: You create a survey to trigger to be sent if the employee’s sentiment score drops below a 2.
Custom attribute update example: You create an exit survey to trigger when an employee’s Employement Status type changes to terminated.
You can also choose to enable recurrence. This will notify the worker every time the trigger condition(s) are met.
To add additional trigger events, click +Add event.
Click Confirm when finished.
Click Activate.
Important Note:
Workers must move into the identified value in order ot have the survey triggered. For example, if the trigger is built around a Preferred Shift custom attribute being equal to Night:
If a worker currently exists that has a Preferred Shift value of “Night”, then they will not receive the survey.
If a worker has a Preferred Shift value of “Morning” and then the value changes to “Night” after the trigger survey was created, they will receive the survey.
