Getting Started with I-9 Center

Fountain’s I-9 Center is your comprehensive solution for frontline workforce I-9 compliance. Equipped with four methods of verification, this platform enables you to streamline the I-9 process while ensuring utmost accuracy.

Unique in its ability, the Fountain I-9 Center allows you to customize verification methods tailored to different new hire segments. Featuring an intuitive admin panel for managing all I-9 workflows, exceptions, and edge cases, you can have complete confidence that your I-9 compliance needs are fully managed. I-9 Center Options

There are two ways you can use Fountain's I-9 Center, as a task within the Worker Portal to complete as your new hires onboard or as a stage within your application that applicants will complete before hire.

During Application (PAPI) Benefits:

  • You can utilize Hire's CAI functionality to support stuck applicants who have questions.

  • You can add a custom informative video stage before the I-9 stage. See a video example HERE. This can be especially helpful if you are using the Authorized Representative option for Section 2 completion!

During Application (PAPI) Considerations:

  • You must purchase Fountain Hire to use this option.

  • The I-9 stage should be towards the very end of your hiring process as the I-9 form must be completed within a specified time frame related to the start date.

  • If you have a lengthy application process, adding this stage may create additional application fatigue for your applicants especially if they are completing both a W-4 and I-9 form.

During Onboarding Benefits:

  • If you have a lengthy application process, moving these forms to onboarding creates a natural break in the process for the worker completing the information.

  • New hires are excited to get started and therefore, may be more engaged to finish completing the forms quickly!

During Onboarding Considerations:

  • You must purchase Fountain Onboard to use this option.

  • New hires are fast approaching their start date, so Fountain users will need to be mindful of following up to ensure completion by the worker by due dates.
